 Early Life Lisa was born in Elephant and Castle, London, on the 24th November 1963. Lisa is an English Actress and television presenter. Lisa trained at the Italia Conti Acadamy of Theatre Arts. She first took to our screens at the age of 11, where she starred in a schools program ''A Place Like Home''. At the age of 13, Lisa participated in BBC TV's ''A Song for Europe'' as a member of the group Unity. They finished last place with the song ''For Only a Day''.  Acting Career Lisa's first senior role was in 1982, in ''Rememberance''. In the same year Lisa also vioced Kira in the film ''The Dark Crystal'', by Jim Henson. In 1993, Lisa was cast as Daphne Moon, in ''Fraiser'', but after disageements with producers, was replaced by Jane Leeves. Lisa is probably best known for her popular role as Detective Inspector Samantha Nixon, in the ITV1 drama ''The Bill'', which she was a part of for 7 years.  |
Comedy Lisa appeared on ''The Russ Abbot Show'', in 1990 (at the age of 27), which led to her getting her own sort-lived show, the ''Lisa Maxwell Show'', on BBC television, in 1991. Presenting Career In 1985, Lisa won a TV vote to become a presenter on the BBC2 pop music show ''No Limits'', along side the other winning presenter Jeremy Legg. Lisa then went on to become the presenter on numerous children's programmes. In March 2009, Lisa appeared on ITV's daytime chat show ''Loose Women'' as a new presenter. However soon after joining alongside her fellow pannelists including, Andrea Mclean, Sherrie Hewson, Carol McGiffen, Kate Thornton, Denise Welch, Coleen Nolan, Zoe Tyler, Lynda Bellingham and many, many guests. However Lisa was forced to take a break after fracturing two ribs, in the ''...Bedroom, slipping on a wooden floor in socks, whilst hurrying to pick up some laundry...''. Lisa returned to show show on the 10th June 2009, back to health, ready to make the nation laugh.  Personal Life Lisa is engaged to sculptor Paul Jessup, and has a daughter, Beau, who was born in October 1999. |
